In 1955, this Fire Station No. 2 was opened at 2301 East Broadway in North Little Rock. Company 2 operated out of this station from
1955- 1992. The original plan was to station a second ladder company at this station along with the pumper assigned to the station.
The reasoning was that the Industrial Area along East Broadway and surrounding streets was in a growth mode at this time. The
station was well designed for a ladder company. The 1975 Snorkel was stored at this station for a while. It was even briefly considered
to have the snorkel operate out of this station. The 1963 ISO Report recommended adding a ladder company at this station.
